Recently someone portrayed twenty-five books in such a way that you have to turn your head ninety degrees to read what they say. That is very tiring and, above all, unnecessary. It should be made clear to those importing books that this is not the intention.

This is usually not a deliberate choice of the importer, but a technical problem with the automatic rotation of photos in Windows. Administrators can (with some effort) straighten those images, so you'll be fine in the end.

I am more annoyed by people who only enter the front of a book. An image of the back should be urgently made mandatory.

I recently switched to Windows 10. Have changed the above item in terms of scans. However, despite the fact that I have rotated the scans in my PC before, they are still downloaded vertically in Catawiki. I downloaded as a test via marketplace, but they will be ok? I'm not doing something right but what?

Probably the program you are using does not rotate the image, but places metadata indicating that the image should be displayed rotated.

Should be easy to fix by a programmer, but I understand the catalog is far from important to auction company Catawiki and nothing will happen. So either you have to use a program that actually rotates it, or someone else will have to rotate it for you (with a program like Photoshop).

BigBadWolf, thanks for your response. After scanning, I applied the rotation myself and that seems to be saved. That my scans are okay as indicated in the marketplace (their program simply refers to what a provider downloads) I find strange compared to Catawiki. I'm going to do some more tests myself.

The catalog is in any case quite important for collectors, also think for the company Catawiki. It is (in my opinion) one of the nicest catalog systems that exist, also in terms of layout and therefore quite valuable. That will not be watered down?

Thank you Jilles! . Think I have figured it out by now, if I rotate the image remains visibly correct. However, apparently I still have to choose the save option. I don't understand it, but yes it works again.

Jilles, we can also correct them ourselves. When inputting, the photos appear to be straight. When I have confirmed they will be rotated in the catalog. I take the photos with my phone. It does not matter whether the photo is taken from the site or taken earlier and added later.

So I don't understand how I can rotate myself.

As an administrator you can download the images without watermark. Then grab your paint, rotate the image, and upload it back to the item.

Of course you don't have to download your own photos first.

First open them in your browser to see if they are upright.

If not, you should indeed rotate them in a photo editing program first. This is also possible on various sites online .
