Can't we get Lady Fantasy in the Top2000?

I already put Dick / Beatles' Rain on it as the first goal to get in the list after the plea of last year.

@ paulcoret & amp; Rene : Wow! Must admit that I hadn't heard of Camel before, but that song Lady Fantasy is a fan -tas-tic. What a wonderful guitar playing and an instant nostalgic feeling. I don't know where that suddenly came from, but brilliant. Let's listen to some other songs now. ;-)

Edit : Now download the album Moonmadness the listening. Lovely.

What a disaster! I had the idea that last year a clearer overview of the numbers was shown. And I think there were also some suggestions at the time!

Now it's just an alphabetical list, of which you actually have to walk through the entire alphabet in order not to have missed a number. There will always be a Oh yes, I would have liked to put that in there too, well next year then (and then you forgot it again)!

I'm just going to do it from memory and put the songs I know by heart in it. After that I'm going to look at my record collection to see if there's a special song in between.

My provisional list (with so many classics!):

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

Wim Sonneveld - The village

André Hazes - The Kite

Jacques Brel - Don't break even!

The Charity - Belgium

Queen - I want to break free!

The Beatles - All you need is love

The Charity - Sinterklaas

Children for Children - I have dreamed so wa wa crazy

Europe - The Final Countdown

Roxette - Joyride

Michael Jackson - Ben

The Surfers - Windsurfing

Circus Custers - Monica

Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush - Don't give up!

Free choice:

Jacques Brel-Amsterdam

Children for Children - On a desert island

Wim Sonneveld - On the Amsterdam canals

Beach Boys - Kokomo

Elton John - Candle in the wind (original version)

How difficult it is again! Fortunately, I have until 20:00 tomorrow, but I will try to fill it in earlier for time reasons.

@antonieq nice that you have been to paradiso. A small hall is the best. This time I was in the ziggo dome, too large, moodless and in belfast in a cafe / hall of the uni with 900 people. 10x better.

@Rene and @vincent the best period of camel for me is until the departure of peter bardens (also died too early). Mirage and moonmadness idd. The snow goose is a beautiful theme album and is almost equaled on the later album nude. Have fun listening. Seen live twice, vredenburg and the goals.

@ antonieq : Have you won a prize or do you know the creators of the program so good that you can participate in the quiz Top2000-a-Go-Go? Or are you an important player in the music world?

When will you be on TV? I think that quiz is held several times until the last.

I still can't figure it out, but I just found out that I didn't have anything from ABBA and The Eagles Hotel California in it yet. . So I also have to stuff it in somewhere. That will be another just-completed classic, I'm afraid.

@Disney,

i think this is another quiz.

Pop quizzes are held in many places towards the end of the year

with the TOP2000 as subject.

It didn't help :(

Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' has once again finished in first place of the Radio 2 Top 2000 this year.

Hotel California at # 2

The Eagles 'Hotel California' takes second place. In third place is Led Zeppelin's "Stairway To Heaven". A striking number of young people between the ages of 15 and 25 voted for Queen's classic.

3.3 million votes cast

During the Top 2000 Voting Week, 3.3 million votes were cast on the songs for the Top 2000 via www.radio2.nl from Saturday 30 November. An absolute record. Never before have so many young people between the ages of 15 and 25 voted for songs for a listing in the List of Limes.

'BoRap also popular among young people'

Kees Toering channel manager Radio 2: “Bohemian Rhapsody at number 1 may not be that exciting, but I find it striking that this song also scores so well with young people. Older people apparently pass the baton to the younger generation. The fact that so many young people voted in the first place proves that the music of the Top 2000 connects generations. ”

It is of course always possible Jilles,

although I even doubt that the majority has ever heard of what Pinkpop performs let alone that they have heard of Green Day.

Bit off topic.

Heard somewhere yesterday that Green Day will stop for a longer period of time and that

Billie Joe Armstrong hooked up with Norah Jones for an Everly Brothers album.

It's that time again! The annual voting week for the Top2000 started again last Friday.

You can still vote until next Friday 1900 hours, but my advice is to do so earlier. There is so much choice that you have to take the time to pass on your own preferences. To vote you can choose 15 numbers that you can choose from a very large list of numbers and enter 5 numbers that are not yet there.

I will vote today and these numbers will be added anyway me in:

  • The Village - Wim Sonneveld
  • On the Amsterdam Canals - Wim Sonneveld
  • Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
  • Europe - The final Countdown
  • André Hazes - De Vlieger
  • Boudewijn de Groot - Evening
  • The Beach Boys - I can hear music
  • You don't bring me flowers - Barbra Streisand & amp; Neil Diamond
  • Eternal Flame - Bangles
  • Penny Lane - The Beatles
  • New York Mining Disaster 1941 - Bee Gees
  • The Clown - Ben Cramer
  • Bachelor - Benny Nijman
  • Heaven is a place on earth - Belinda Carlisle
  • (Sitting on) the dock of the Bay - Otis Redding
  • Michael Jackson - Ben
  • Puzzle Me - Ilse de Lange
  • Ring my Bell - Anita Ward
  • Amsterdam - Jacques Brel
  • Papa - Stef Bos

Very difficult and except for Stef Bos, Belinda Carlisle and Anita Ward, all songs from those artists should be included. We will see!

Vote everyone and especially let us hear what you voted. Also nice to run in the CataWiki Café.
