I was just curious.
Is this the biggest book/comic book? #8797099 in the LastDodo.

No one responds, so I guess you have the biggest ;-)

Do you mean the largest in thickness or do you mean surface or weight?

The biggest, the smallest, thickest, heaviest
Those are fun facts.

There's more to it than just light and dark colors.
One has white lettering and the other black lettering.
Clean job for the Sherlock Holmes among the connoisseurs :-)

That's not such a big mystery. It used to be more common that only a part of a printed edition was bound. This was largely manual work and formed a large part of the costs.
The remainder of the inside work was stored in the warehouse (as flat sheets) and finished at a later date (when all bound copies had been sold). Sometimes in a completely different binding, often a so-called series binding with a general design.
That way expensive books did not have to be destroyed if the title unfortunately sold less well than expected.

These two editions were probably also released with an interval of several years. The binding stamps were apparently preserved, but a slightly different color of linen was used and the stamp colors may have been adapted accordingly.
It is almost impossible to determine exactly what the first edition was and what the second is, unless you happen to come across copies in which someone has written a date (often a giver or recipient, if it was a birthday or Sinterklaas present).

It can be much more extreme, eg take a look at the 7 editions of The two cousins of Kieviet.

If the flat sheets were forgotten, you sometimes get an edition like this #3323363

I have to thank you too, because I didn't know how it worked either (only knew the Lazarus edition). Would it be a good idea to include this information elsewhere, for example in a background page of a series with many changing covers?

What I'm actually missing in the catalog is a place where you can share more general information or express a subjective opinion about your collection. Call it a blog section.
Of course you can also give your opinion in a background page, but I always try to keep it a bit neutral.

What I actually miss in the catalog is a place where you can enter more general information or express a subjective opinion about your collection. Call it a blog section.

After the redevelopment of the platform is completed, we will work on a better community environment, where your ideas will fit nicely. Unfortunately we can't do everything at once and patience is a virtue here too :-)

Your comment about the background page is correct, it should of course be based on facts and not on opinions. Incidentally, you can now also express your views on collecting issues on the forum.
