Toevallig op een rommelbeurs een zootje 'Fiets tax plaatjes België' van West-Vlaanderen gevonden. Die heb ik een tijdje terug toegevoegd in de rubriek 'Overig'. Wat een pareltjes. Blijkt dat er heel wat verzamelaars van zijn, en zelfs clubs. Elke Belgische provincie gaf elk jaar taksplaatjes uit die je moest kopen en aan je fiets moest hangen. Anders mocht je niet op de openbare weg. Zelfde principe blijkbaar voor bromfietsen (50 cc) en boten.
Eigenlijk jammer dat die pareltjes, met vele serieuze verzamelaars, in 'Overig' verstopt zitten. Onderzoek wijst uit dat nogal wat landen (zelfs Japan en China) dergelijke fiets-belasting-plaatjes hebben uitgegeven, jaar na jaar.
Deze week herinnerde ik mij plots dat ik ooit eens een aantal Amerikaanse Autonummerplaten had bemachtigd. Die heb ik ook toegevoegd in 'Overig'. Zo dacht ik dat het misschien niet slecht zou zijn een afzonderlijke rubriek 'Kentekenplaten' te maken op LD. Als er uiteraard ook een echte kenner (van een deel) van kentekenplaten kan gevonden worden. Ik vind ze leuk, maar mijn kennis erover is niet zo groot. Er zijn ook kentekenplaten uitgegeven door niet-landen (niet-overheid) ter versiering. Er zitten soms leuke en mooie platen tussen die je aan een auto of truck kon ophangen.

Coincidentally found a bunch of 'Bicycle tax pictures Belgium' from West Flanders at a flea fair. I added it a while back in the 'Other' section. What a gem. Turns out that there are quite a few collectors of these, and even clubs. Every Belgian province issued tax labels every year that you had to buy and hang on your bike. Otherwise you were not allowed on the public road. Same principle apparently for mopeds (50 cc) and boats.
It's really a shame that those gems, with many serious collectors, are hidden in 'Other'. Research shows that quite a few countries (even Japan and China) have issued such bicycle tax plaques, year after year.
This week I suddenly remembered that I once once got hold of some American car number plates. I also added those in 'Other'. So I thought it might not be a bad thing to create a separate section 'License plates' on LD. If, of course, a real connoisseur (of a part) of number plates can be found. I like them, but my knowledge about them is not that great. There are also license plates issued by non-countries (non-government) for decoration. Sometimes there are nice and beautiful plates that you could hang on a car or truck.

Die zijn nóg mooier dan de West-Vlaamse Fiets-tax-plaatjes! Was de rubriek er maar al lol, dan kon iemand zoiets toevoegen, en als achtergrond de uitleg er bij. Lijkt mij per Stad/Gemeente geweest te zijn in Nederland (R.DAM = Rotterdam?).

Raoul62 Beste Raoul. Maar het lijkt me wel een zeer goed idee om zoiets bij LD. in te voeren. Vooral deze belasting plaatjes voor fietsen. Zelfs Catawiki heeft ze wel eens in de veiling aangeboden. Weet je dat deze plaatjes om de stang van het fietsenstuur werden gebogen, daarom zijn ze meestal van dun koperplaat gemaakt. Groet John.

Raoul62 Troost je, je hebt er vrij weinig aan te doen, denk ik, want er is zo weinig van in omloop dat er nagenoeg niets aan te kontroleren valt. Wat er is opgevoerd is 'altijd' goed.

Morits Is ruimer dan louter voor de fiets. In België waren er soortgelijke jaarlijkse provinciale plaatjes voor fietsen, bromfietsen, boten, tandems, invalidenkarretjes, ... Met dan nog afwijkende uitvoeringen voor bv. werklozen, overheidsdiensten, internationale organisaties (o.a. SHAPE)... Voor België alleen al toch ruim boven de 2.000 verschillende mogelijkheden.
In het overzicht van Nederland op Overig merk ik overigens dat er een paar dubbel zijn. En dat er ook een verschil kan zijn binnen hetzelfde jaar (periode) van geldigheid (die uitgestanste ster ... geen idee wat dat betekent).
Autonummerplaten zijn ook kentekenplaten. Deze werden niet jaarlijks vervangen, maar ze kregen regelmatig een andere vorm (aantal letters/cijfers, kleur, ...).
Telkens betreft het een kenteken dat aan een vervoermiddel zichtbaar moest worden aangebracht. Zodat kon vastgesteld worden of voor het vervoermiddel de verschuldigde taks (belasting) of verzekering werd betaald. Ik heb ergens gelezen dat in Zwitserland het voor fietsen niet als bewijs van betaling van de de belasting dienstig was, maar als bewijs dat het rijwiel verzekerd was. Benieuwd of er nog dergelijke subtiele verschillen zijn in andere landen.
Morits Is more spacious than just for the bicycle. In Belgium there were similar annual provincial plates for bicycles, mopeds, boats, tandems, wheelchairs for the disabled, ... With different versions for e.g. the unemployed, government services, international organizations (including SHAPE) ... For Belgium alone , well above the 2,000 different possibilities.
In the overview of the Netherlands on Other, I notice that there are a few duplicates. And that there can also be a difference within the same year (period) of validity (that punched-out star...no idea what that means).
Car number plates are also number plates. These were not replaced annually, but they regularly took on a different shape (number of letters/numbers, colour, ...).
Each time it concerns a license plate that had to be visibly affixed to a means of transport. So that it could be determined whether the due tax (tax) or insurance was paid for the means of transport. I read somewhere that in Switzerland it was not useful as proof of payment of the tax for bicycles, but as proof that the bicycle was insured. Curious if there are still such subtle differences in other countries.

Ik had al af en toe een verzamelaar van die dingen gecontacteerd (aangeklampt) om te proberen iemand naar LD te lokken met zijn 'handel en wandel'. Voor iedereen winst. Maar het feit dat het in de hoop 'Overig' zit maakt het te moeilijk om iemand te kunnen overtuigen. Met een afzonderlijke rubriek, een eigen afgebakend herkenbaar (en beheersbaar) domein, zou het wat simpeler zijn.

I had already occasionally contacted (addressed) a collector of those things to try to lure someone to LD with his 'trade and walk'. Profit for everyone. But the fact that it is in the 'Other' heap makes it too difficult to convince someone. It would be a bit simpler with a separate section, its own clearly defined (and manageable) domain.
Een gat in een Nederlands rijwielbelastingplaatje was voor de "armen", die zo'n plaatje kregen zonder belasting te hoeven betalen. Misschien dient je stergat hetzelfde doel? Je nummerplaatjes kan je uitbreiden met "verzekeringsplaatjes" van niet-motorrijtuigen. Had je een brommer, dan kreeg je 1x per jaar een plaatje van de verzekeringsmaatschappij, ten teken dat je verzekerd was. Heb ze zelfs nog gehad toen ik nog een scootmobiel reed.
A hole in a Dutch bicycle tax plate was for the "poor", who received such a plate without having to pay tax. Maybe your star hole serves the same purpose? You can expand your number plates with "insurance plates" from non-motor vehicles. If you had a moped, you would receive a picture from the insurance company once a year to indicate that you were insured. Even had them when I drove a scooter.

Momenteel in de hoop 'Overig' staan er meer dan honderd verspreid over 4 soorten 'voorwerp'. Volgens mij een potentie van ca 10.000 officiële kentekenplaatjes met een herkenbare eigen rubriek. Daarnaast zijn er ook de fantasieproducten zoals bv. #8965479 en #3279353. Producten die hetzelfde gebruik (aan een voertuig hangen) voor ogen hadden, maar dan eerder een promotionele of emotionele boodschap voor ogen hadden ipv belastingen of verzekering. Of bv. #2438187 en #1663293. Gelijkend op, puur inspelend op de verzamelwoede van kentekenplaten. Fantasie-uitvoeringen die niet als doel hadden om ze aan een voertuig te hangen, maar netjes (in kleiner formaat) werden 'nagemaakt'. Om in een album te verzamelen. Naast de verzameling van de 'echte' exemplaren. Die staan nu ook verspreid over meerdere rubrieken. Een voorzichtige schatting van die fantasieproducten is niet mogelijk, het kan alle kanten uit. Tja, ik had mijn huiswerk al een beetje gemaakt.

Een nieuwe rubriek "Eet- en drinkgerei" zou veel duidelijkheid scheppen voor items die nu overal verspreid staan in de rubrieken "Glas en kristal", "Keramiek" en "Overig".
De huidige rubrieken "Glas en kristal" en "Keramiek" zijn niet gebaseerd op het Voorwerp/Object, maar op het materiaal waar het is van gemaakt. In die rubrieken staan overigens wel objecten die geen gebruiksvoorwerp zijn, maar Kunstobjecten zijn. Te overwegen is een rubriek "Beeldende kunst", waar objecten kunnen worden ingevoerd die niet als (gebruiks)voorwerp zijn te beschouwen, maar wel worden verzameld. Uiteraard is er dan behoefte aan een soort definitie wat wel/niet in een dergelijke rubriek zou kunnen worden ingevoerd. Zijn er mensen die daartoe een poging willen wagen?
A new section "Eating and drinking utensils" would create a lot of clarity for items that are now scattered everywhere in the sections "Glass and crystal", "Ceramics" and "Other".
The current sections "Glass and crystal" and "Ceramics" are not based on the Object/Object, but on the material from which it is made. In these sections you will find objects that are not utensils, but are Art Objects. A section "Visual art", where objects can be are entered that cannot be regarded as a (utility) object, but are collected. Obviously there is then a need for some kind of definition of what can/cannot be entered in such a section. Are there people who would like to try that?
Raoul62 Het verbaasd me eigenlijk dat er (nog) geen "eigen" rubriek kentekenplaten op LD staat. Zelf verzamel ik het niet maar op de diverse beurzen die ik in de jaren heen bezocht heb, waren er vaak stands met dit soort zaken.
Raoul62 I'm actually surprised that there is no "own" section number plates on LD (yet). I don't collect it myself, but at the various fairs that I have visited over the years, there were often stands with these kinds of things.
