Looking back on 2021, we as beer label collectors had another great year.

In our beer label section, we actively collected again last year.
On April 27, 2018, we had another milestone of 20,000 labels. We are now at 34,684 labels.
This growth is partly due to an enormous contribution from thousands of labels from collector KANES. Thanks to him, the German labels in particular have been expanded considerably.

In 2021 there will be a clear shift in the breweries from beer bottles to beer cans. Understandable in itself, given the advantages of tin cans, but it makes collecting the labels a bit more difficult. Strips of labels can still be removed with a knife after considerable heating of the can, but the cuffs that are wrapped around the can are much more difficult to shape if the removal itself is successful.
The beer can labels are only not very clear in our beer label section (but that will probably change).

In terms of beer cans, the beers from LØwlander and Brewdog have been in the news a lot last year. For example, there was LØwlander's Tompouce Ale in collaboration with HEMA. Started off as an April Fools' joke but got way out of hand. The first batch was sold out super fast and later offered for sale on Marktplaats at extortionate prices. In the end, LØwlander recently brewed a very large second batch which is still widely available.
There was also the ALD IPA from Brewdog, along with the Aldi supermarkets and the Tony's Hopolonely from Brewdog and Tony's Chocolonely. All three very special partnerships. Unfortunately, these are again wrapped cans from which the labels could not be removed.

It remains to be seen how many brewers will switch to cans in the near future ...

I am also very grateful to KANES, bliekie and siebe-koster for the many hours
that they put into entering, checking and adjusting the beer breweries, the alcohol and content notations and other things they encountered. This brings some more structure and unity to the input of the data.

All other fellow collectors who passed on their adjustments and comments are also thanked for their input. This way we get a nice and reliable collection of beer labels.

It only remains for me to wish everyone happy holidays and a good 2022.
