I assume you mean a digital file. What kind of file is that?

Have you connected the external hard drive (with a cable) to your laptop?

I think you want to do something that is not possible.
Everything is 'online' on the internet. On whatever device (PC, Laptop, Tabled, Smartphone, ...) you go to the site and log in: there you have your collection.
I don't think you can save the entire interface, with all screens and images from your collection, locally.

On a digital device it may be possible to work offline with the device and your collection (have you heard of that). How, others are good at that (I'm a-digital, with the a for anti :)). You need an app for that and it involves 'synchronizing' ...

What you can do on your laptop is export your collection. Then it will be neatly available in an Excel or CSV . You can store those files on your Laptop, and you can copy them to an external hard drive via Explorer.

If you go to 'My collection' on the site, you will see the button (top right) 'Export'.

Curious if there will be a digital technical supplement here that will fill my gaps.

I'm afraid you won't get those coins in through that cable.
Is there no (insert) slot provided on such a tray?

In the past, a long time ago, you could download an entire site onto a PC and save it in a folder somewhere. With all the underlying.
On LD you can only download the 'current screen'. With all graphic elements (images of the items) included. But only from the current screen (ie very limited). Small size images, of course, and all provided with the 'quality mark': a green block with a transparent L in the lower right corner.

In the normal course of business you are absolutely right Raoul62 .
The option you give the browser > save as web page (complete) does that (almost all browsers can do that). TIP: do you? then use the 2nd icon at the top of the list view (if you have front and back thumb), thumbnails will remain!.

Identical use you can also do this as a 'printer function, or choose PDF when printing (may/will give some more errors).

DISADVANTAGE!! With web page storage , the underlying links remain active , ie clicking on them will send you to LD (but you will not be logged in); so we'll just say looks only.
(ehhh the front... the so-called 'edit image' (= your own section with your own data and images and comments, is something else... that goes per piece. Suppose you have 20000 copies (eg stamps). ......

Finally, this can also be done statically (print 'shape' as an image): screenshot program that can scroll the browser window, so that you get everything on it.

And yes, you can easily save any large image via link or screenshot.
And that has historically always been a major stumbling block for web builders; you can protect so much, but no image (print screen button on your keyboard)/

And yes, that 'past' possibility still exists, but you soon go towards the ill. circuit.
Without permission from the domain holder you are doing something (very) wrong.
There are intermediate programs: 'the downloaders' (well, are they legal/illegal ?? (it's about the action what and for what purpose)), they can do that to a certain extent... (depth of links and content files).
And if you wonder why it can't all be like this anymore (sometimes fortunately ;-) ), because a website...
hihi (I'm not going to spoil it).

Estimate: an average collection (complete) will soon reach 1-2 Gb in data storage I suspect, so never mind..
