JillesCharles1971Eindhoven, dat klopt en Boxtel ken ik ook. Jaren geleden kwamen we daar wel eens in een sporthal als mijn dochter moest handballen. En tegenwoordig alleen nog maar langs het stationnetje met de trein. Houdoe en bedankt! wordt nog steeds hier gebruikt.
Harry56Monterey is een prima nummer. Eric Burdon & The Animals was het vervolg op The Animals en was een compleet nieuwe band. Speelde ook meer "psychedelisch. Daarna Eric Burdon & War en tenslotte solo. Ik zag hem ergens in 1980 of 1981 in Het Karregat te Eindhoven met een flinke Nederlandse begeleidingsband waaronder Eelco Gelling, Jan Akkerman, Kaz Lux en Nippi Noya. Geweldig concert waarbij Gelling zijn vriend Akkerman overvleugelde.
JillesIk ken van die drie alleen Curved Air en Sky. Ik ga Darryl Way's Wolf eens lekker beluisteren.

Harry56Monterey is a great song. Eric Burdon & The Animals was the sequel to The Animals and was a completely new band. Also played more "psychedelic". Then Eric Burdon & War and finally solo. I saw him somewhere in 1980 or 1981 in Het Karregat in Eindhoven with a large Dutch backing band including Eelco Gelling, Jan Akkerman, Kaz Lux and Nippi Noya. Great concert with Gelling his friend Akkerman outflanked.

Heb even jouw link bekeken Dick52 , is inderdaad wel een pijnlijk moment voor Eric. Dit zal toch echt niet zijn laatste optreden zijn geweest ?. Zo kun je na al die jaren toch niet eindigen ?.

Dick52Charles1971Eric is van 1941 en nu dus 81. Ik heb het ook gelezen en geen idee of het waar is, maar niet optreden als hij niet betaald wordt vind ik prima. Het is niet pijnlijk voor de artiest, maar voor de organisatie. Chuck Berry deed dat al 60 jaar geleden. Als die bij een optreden het pand betrad, was de eerste gang naar de organisator. Eerst betalen, anders speel ik niet. Ze hadden hem al vaak genoeg voor niks laten spelen, die promotors en zaaleigenaren. Wel sneu voor de fans.

Jilleshet tweede clipje was toch iets pijnlijker. Meer voor de organisatie okee, maar ik had toch niet in de schoenen willen staan van Eric.
Het lijkt me ook niet leuk als je niet op kunt treden als muzikant. Je maakt reis- en verblijfkosten en dan krijg je ook nog ruzie met de organisatie over de betaling. Ik vermoed dat hij optreden nog steeds leuk vindt om te doen.

I also don't think it's fun if you can't perform as a musician. You incur travel and accommodation costs and then you also get into a fight with the organization about payment. I suspect he still enjoys performing.
