Well shall I start then?

So I am Highway, mainly active in coins but also a few banknotes. I also have a few other collections such as CCG cards from Star Trek, but I don't really care about that anymore and I will not put them on Catawiki.

I've always been a collector, that's why I also have about 600 Donald Duck magazines and a few thousand flippos that I don't know what to do with.

Unfortunately, I can't get to them now to put them individually in my catawiki as I am abroad, but if you are interested, send me a message.

I also use Catawiki in English, but I am simply Dutch, I only use English because I like that language better to work with.

That was about it and who knows, see you soon

Fun! It is special that you use the English version. It is not as good as the Dutch one yet, but we are busy improving it.

In short: I am Tom de Jong and have been an avid collector for as long as I can remember. That's kind of an addiction, because as soon as I have 2 or more of something, I have to suppress the urge to look for more ;-). I once started collecting stamps, but I soon discovered comics as a more interesting alternative (you can collect and read them). That soon concentrated on Classics and as soon as I could read English, the original American comics were added. Many years later, I finally have Classics almost complete (though I keep exploring) and about 80% of all affordable Marvel's and DC's up to the early 90's (at which point I stopped buying new comics, because the publishers collector started sucking with 5 variations of each comic).

But now the collecting of coins and banknotes has also been added and lately I have been addicted to old children's books (although that still means little). And then there is one more area that I might want to add to Catawiki soon: I save energy drink cans: now a few hundred from all over the world! Well, that virus really crawls where it can't go ;-)

Greetings,

Tom

Welcome Tom!

Cans could be a nice extension indeed. I also know a collector of Coca Cola cans.

My name is Kees and I start by realizing that over the years I have gathered a lot.

If something has my interest, something like that starts up at a rapid pace and depletes me again from the flow of bargains. Fortunately, that will pass after a while, but then another area comes into view.

Sometimes a collection area comes to a standstill for years and a small find or gift or opportunity flares up again. Any degree of exaggeration is not strange to me and I have that in common with other collectors.

My collection areas are .:

Stamps

Netherlands and colonies, FDCs

Abroad mainly from before 1940

I have already imported a lot of FDCs and the stamps have to wait another year.

Book ca 2500.

I have started transferring my collection of “Bookstores” to Catawiki

About 2000 items to go

Strips

About half of them are in Catawiki, about 2000 items to go

CDs about 500 more

Videos just under 800

Elpee’s 1800 to go, doing that well is a painstaking job

Girths almost 500 pieces

My main collection areas are model figures such as knights, soldiers and all related. The collection is many thousands of pieces in size and only partially classified.

This is an almost untouched area at Catawiki. In the Netherlands it is also a fairly small collection area, but in England and Germany it is a gigantic area.

My specialization is on the brands, Elastolin, Mertens, Starlux, Britains, Timpo Toys, etc.The name 'Elastokees', chosen by me, also fits.

The past month I have been busy to open the new section 'Toy Soldiers' and I am happy that Catawiki (especially Rene and Arwin) let me participate in this section and I am convinced that it will be a success.

In the process you will find out how little you still know and what it takes to build a good catalog. I really have quite a library in this area and those are all books that you rarely or never come across and yet I still miss.

U Egg or surprise eggs is a large area for collecting, especially in Germany.

I collect the metal Ferrero figures (several hundreds) and I also have some banana boxes full of the plastic stuff.

The same for all MacDonald items (part Walt Disney, part Mattel, of which about 200 mini Barbies from the Happy Meals)

Entering this is something for the future.

Then I have some small collections like pencil sharpeners in the craziest shapes and miniature weapons, but they also have to wait their turn.

For now I'm still busy with the "Toy Soldiers"

As is customary in other forums, I will introduce myself in a new topic instead of hanging a message under the first topic.

I ended up on CataWiki looking for information about Irish stamps. And I am glad I found this site. Even though everything is not yet in tip-top shape, initiators and all users have created something beautiful in a short time.

As can also be read in my profile, I started collecting Irish stamps in 1978 due to my holidays in that country. Because I have been a motorcyclist, and hopefully, when the bike is restored, I also save stamps with motorcycles on it.

After an enthusiastic start, collecting was limited to a stamp subscription and eventually even unpacking the folders often ended up unpacked in a box.

In a recent move, all the boxes and books with stamps passed through my hands again. Curious how much the collection would be worth now, I started to unpack and catalog everything. The value is disappointing, but it is nice to be busy with the collection. I also have more time now because I am on early retirement.

ff introduce:

I am harley44 (Jos) and I am an avid collector of everything that has to do with suske and wiske.

I have built up a large collection since I started, from figurines to newspaper clippings you name it.

Be a member of the suske en wiske fan club to stay up to date with everything related to this item.

I also have a few boxes with mc donalds stuff that I also have to sort out (new ones are always added, of course).

I also have to say that I think this site is fantastic because there is little or nothing in the field of catalogs about collecting. Keep it up ......

I'd just like to introduce myself,
my real name is kevin and I come from the city of emmeloord (located in Flevoland)
recently moved out of the house and very busy collecting again.

and yes what I collect are mostly Coins from all over the world.
started this hobby because an acquaintance of my parents showed his coins and I really thought "Whoo nice man" and he gave me a few coins to collect too.
was very happy with it, and then got a few kilos of coins from the internet.

how I got to Catawiki was actually by accident when I was looking for a program to keep track of my coins. read somewhere on a forum that this was quite a nice site. so I signed up then.

Many greetings

Hello everyone,

My name is Mike and I collect everything that is loose and stuck from the Classic Mini Cooper.

The entire attic is already full of it;)

Now I have recently gained a new love ... a Triumph TR4 from 1962.

So started a new search.

A great site indeed.

I will put my Minikes on it, because I saw that there is only 1 on it and then also the new model ....

Hello everyone,

I am DisneyMeentwijck (Jouke) and I was also born with the collecting virus, I can totally empathize with Tom, because if you have more than 2 of something, then you are already collecting. My parents collected all kinds of things and in particular art from around the 1920s, Art Deco / Nouveau and Paintings and much more.

When I was little I already collected toys and Donald Ducks. I have been a member of the DD since I was born (1974) and my parents only stopped that subscription in 1994. I have completed almost all volumes and bound them in the then beautiful blue bindings with metal pins that unfortunately rust a bit now. I had various types of playmobile and lego and I also kept all the boxes and I still have all the Lego instruction booklets. When StarWars was in I also got StarWars toys, but that didn't appeal to me as a lego or playmobile (I still have the items, such as darth vader and Luke with sword). I actually wanted the Millenium Falcon, but it was too expensive for me and so I got the moon base from Playmobile.

A little later I also started collecting Dutch comics from the junior press and Baldakijn later. That obsession extended to the Dutch Classics and HIP comics. I don't know exactly which number I have, but I do know which one I have and I miss a few (what good stories they had then!). I now also have the Dutch comics almost complete and are stored in boxes and I can look at them for days.

As you get older, you also become a bit more sentimental and I started collecting things that I had in my youth and I started looking at my parents for what was left of it. Now I also collect games (because yes, I had more than 1), both analog (board games, etc) and digital. In my student days I also bought a lot of games myself under the guise that they are never for sale in the store and I am still right about that. As a result, I have a whole collection.

Because I am born in Amsterdam and have been living there for 11 years, I also collect everything from Amsterdam and finally I also collect postcards from various places.

If I look at the CataWiki catalog like this, I still have to add a lot of objects in the catalog, because a lot is still missing, but there is also a lot in it, so that I can get started. But unfortunately I am not at the end, because there is still a lot to enter! Every day a lot and appreciate the site more and more.

Oh yes, what I forgot to mention is that I also collect everything in the field of Disney (Disneyana) and because it became a lot and did not fit in my own house (with my parents I had my own large attic, now I have several rooms, but less space), I started to specialize on books over 50 years old and everything from that period (toys, posters, postcards, etc.). Still a lot and I can't give up my collection, which now falls outside that category (about 25 moving boxes). I also have a lot of CDs, DVDs, Videotapes and records and that is therefore also part of a collection, because more than 1.

Collecting is a virus you don't want to be cured of!

@Mike

will put my Minikes on it anyway, because I saw that there is only 1 on it and then also the new model ....

There are already some more in it, these can be found at Mini Cooper, Austin and Morris.

Good luck.

Yes, I am also a great collector in many areas, but mainly coins, paper money, telephone cards, Dinky Toys and prayer cards.

Much to my wife's satisfaction, because if we start living smaller, there will always be a good-sized bedroom to store everything in it.

More than 10,000 coins, more than 8,000 telephone cards, almost 1,000 paper money, almost 600 Dinky Toys and almost 200 prayer cards. The prayer cards also include a large collection of death cards, newspaper clippings, birth announcements, in short, everything you come across in a family tree. But also various photos of all persons.

As far as the family tree data is concerned, I have given them on loan to the archive, because that way everyone can look into it and make notes if possible.

another hobby is geocaching and I took more than 600 pictures of this.

Greetings, aad-agten

Hello everyone,

I am Lars, 24 years old and I am a student and entrepreneur.

Unexpectedly, I came into possession of a lot of Dutch coins.

these coins (approximately 2000) are from the period 1958 to 1950.

The collection consists of half cents, cents, dimes, 2.5 cents, 1500 quarters, guilders and rijksdaalders.

I want to know what this is worth and if there are people who are interested in this.

Any help, tips or suggestions are more than welcome.

mvg,

Lars

hello i am gerda

I collect from 1971 comics. now have almost all volumes of Eppo. Sjors. Sjors and Sjimmie. Pep Shosji. Papparazzi. Eppo to be continued. Also a lot of loose quiffs.

Also comic albums of which the most are new. Because I have started living smaller, I have to lose everything. I've been trying to put them on the site a few times, but whatever I do it won't be accepted.

I cannot put a price on the purchase because I was subscribed.

Can you explain to me how to proceed?

My name is Kitty and I am an avid collector.

I love Star Wars, I have a small collection of dolls and ships.
I also saved up the Disney dolls you got at Mc | Donalds for a long time, but I am going to get rid of that collection.
From the age of 18 I have loved elephants and that is what I will be doing on this site.

A question by the way: since when did this site exist because I don't see that much of it yet?

The site has been on the air since 2008. However, this does not apply to all sections. The catalog has been expanded over the years.
