While cleaning up my attic I came across 3 stockbooks with pins that I hope someone can tell me if there is a demand for them.

Take a look at the auction.

Type pins there in the search bar.

Huge amounts of commercial pins were put into circulation during the pin craze in the mid-1960s (an estimated 200 million in 1965 alone). Large numbers of these are still lying around in attics and the majority of them only in bulk have any value. Don't imagine too much, these collections generally don't yield more than a few cents per pin.

Soccer and car pins in particular can make it a bit more interesting (they are still widely collected) , and of course there is always the chance that there is a really rare pin in between.

Incidentally, the lots with pins at the Catawiki auction usually reach much higher prices than at, for example, Marktplaats. I am still amazed about that.

Then I continue to be amazed at how people at fairs (for collectors, flea markets or ordinary general fairs) dare to ask so much money for it.

I still come across pins that cost 12.50 each if not more. Especially the strip pins are asked for a lot of money.

@ Strippins : Aren't you the one buying (or offering) those bulk offers? ;)

They are very nice lots for novice collectors, I think.

Asking and receiving are two different things.

People sometimes think they have gold in their hands. Of course someone sometimes pays a few euros for a very specific pin, for example for nostalgic reasons. And of course there are pins that are sought after by many collectors and yield a few to many tens of euros. But that does not mean that they are all so rare.

I occasionally buy a lot, for which I pay maybe a few bucks because there is 1 comic pin that I want. But the rest is the aforementioned plastic and tin advertising stuff that is (for me) not yet worth the postage.

Maybe they are indeed novice collectors who bid so fanatically. And of course I don't want to tell other people how to spend their money ;-)

They are certainly not badges from the 60s. There are examples from the wartime, including nsb, swastika and broken rifle.

In that case - without additional information - it is virtually impossible to provide a meaningful answer to your question.

Henkier6, the pin of NSB swastika yield an average of 40 euros.

At least if they are the right ones, and original.

Goodendag,

My parents really want to get rid of their pins, because they have been cleaning up for some time.
I have offered to see if there is any interest, because simply throwing away to the cycle does not provide the right target group and would be nice if they still had a nice gift.

But without photographing them individually, how can I get all 400 of them to a collector to offer?

Are pins of many brands, traffic signs, football players.

Hope to get a tip that I can take further, so that they end up in the right place.

greetings Brigit

They are very likely to be virtually worthless, statistically speaking.

But otherwise, without seeing them, nothing can be said about them.
