Ik bemerk dat bij twee albums de druk is veranderd van 2e naar 1e druk.
Ik had bewust deze albums op 2e druk gezet, omdat ik van de uitgever zelf had vernomen dat 1e druk de Luxe albums betreft, en de gewone 2e druk.
Dat staat ook vermeld in het boek zelf.
Althans: er staat 1e druk 2008, 2e druk 2008,
Toen heb ik de uitgever een mailtje gestuurd met de vraag hoe dit nu kan. Met antwoord dus dat de luxe 1e druk zijn.
Betreffende Marten Toonder – Laat dat een les zijn, en Marten Toonder – Een eenvoudig gebaar.

I had deliberately put these albums on 2nd edition, because I had heard from the publisher that 1st edition is the Luxe albums, and the normal 2nd edition.

Mijn oog viel op het bericht hierboven. Erg duidelijk is het niet wat is eerste en wat is tweede (en derde) druk.
Het handvat dat ik zou gebruiken is het ISBN-nummer. In Groep 4 wordt daar de titel aangeduid.
In het onderhavige ‘Laat dat een les zijn’ is het ISBN-nummer 978-90-234-2970-8.
Laat we 978 maar even vergeten. 90 staat voor de landencode, 234 voor de uitgevers en producentenaanduiding (De Bezige Bij in dit geval), 2970 is dus de titelaanduiding en 8 staat voor een controlegetal (daar wordt een wiskundige formule bij gebruikt).
Op die titelaanduiding wil ik in het onderhavige geval ingaan. Bij de luxe editie is die titelaanduiding 2975. Een hoger getal dan van de gewone editie. Is het dan logisch dat die gewone editie de eerste druk is?

I want that title indication take effect in the present case. With the deluxe edition, the title designation is 2975. A higher number than the regular edition. Does it make sense that the regular edition is the first edition?
Zoals ik heb uitgelegd in de bijzonderheden heeft de uitgever deze keer een zeer merkwaardige druk-nummering gehanteerd.
Het is dus discutabel om de boeken in Catawiki eerste druk te noemen, maar ook verwarrend om ze tweede druk te noemen.
Jammer dat zo’n uitgever z’n eigen eenzame weg gaat…
As I explained in the details, this time the publisher used a very curious edition numbering. So it is debatable to call the books in Catawiki first edition, but also confusing to call them second edition.
