I spent a lot of time yesterday trying to add all kinds of pins. I had to capitulate with 1 pin: A & O. I tried all variants with/without spaces and also with + and Active and/&/+ Enterprising. (A & O also didn't work with glasses.) I couldn't imagine being the first, but I couldn't find it. I added a new item and (so?) saw the duplicate this morning. Am I overlooking something that I can't find A & O? I'm even starting to doubt the "&" on what I think is a normal keyboard. Now that I see that there are A&O (Netherlands), A&O (France), among others, the search and finding works, but not without the country addition. Does anyone understand this?

I have also searched for a title with & but always 0 results, for example B&W and also O&K
These include ship engines and excavators.

Separate. Fortunately, & does not occur that often, or a longer search term is possible, such as A&O (Netherlands).

The & is a special character, and LD has difficulty with that. Perhaps place [AO] after the title for better findability. Or the administrator must attach it to a field somewhere as an alias.

It always takes effort for me too.
In this case you could have filtered by Type: Pin and Theme: Flags, then they are almost at the beginning.
But it remains manageable.

PS Try to find a pin with only 1 letter on it.

Am I remembering correctly that we need 3 letters to search?

TroutMask
There are certain characters/letters that you cannot search for.
" & " is one of them.
So A&O and A&O do not work; and you only have 1 character for the &
A & O [Netherlands] does work: after all, 'Netherlands' is found.
@Jummeke
I thought 2 characters would be enough, but in the search bar at the top, I tried with ch and got 15
Results.

For 1 letter, the instruction was to create an alias with that letter 7x. Provided you have a field for that.

For 1 letter, the instruction was to create an alias with that letter 7x. Provided you have a field for that.

The rule is only for manageable fields to enter a plural for words with 1 or 2 letters as a name variation (i.e. not an alias). So for a name "A", the administrator enters "AAAAAA" in the Name Variation field.
If the name is "AB", the administrator enters "ABABAB".
An importer does not have to and cannot do anything about this himself.

However, the title is not a manageable field and this trick cannot be performed.

I came up with a solution for it some time ago via the Theme field, but I'm not completely satisfied with it.

I didn't know that solution with a plural of the letter, I will add that as a name variation.
