Ik ben het intussen zelf ook maar zo gaan invoeren. Scheelt beheerderswerk, maar … moet het invoerscherm daar dan ook niet op aangepast?
Another issue - besides personal stamp and crypto input - that I often encounter in the Netherlands is that thousands under 10,000 are stripped of the dot, even though the input screen is quite clear about this.
I've since implemented it this way myself. It saves admin work, but... shouldn't the input screen be adjusted accordingly?
Vond het ook een tijd vreemd dat het puntje door de superbeheerder vrij consistent wordt verwijderd. Maar qua “choose your battles” staat het niet als hoogste op mijn lijst van wonderlijkheden in NL. Het zou wel netter zijn als invoerscherm, handboek en toepassing in overeenstemming zijn.
I also found it strange for a while that the dot was consistently removed by the super administrator. But when it comes to "choose your battles," it's not at the top of my list of wonders in the Netherlands. It would be better if the input screen, manual, and application were consistent.

Helv Er is hier geen sprake geweest van een update van het handboek. Daar staat over Oplage alleen "Schrijfwijze bv 1.000.000" en dat is niet veranderd. Wat veranderd is, is de invulinstructie op het scherm. Dat is vorig jaar augustus door Collectioneur gedaan en volgens mij netjes gemeld op het forum. Het is niet gebruikelijk om dat nog apart aan alle beheerders te sturen, maar als het helpt om te voorkomen dat ze onterechte correcties doen, dan kunnen we dat voortaan zeker overwegen.
In de mailwisseling die we er destijds over hadden constateerden we wel dat het niet ideaal is dat ook in het Engels de '.' gebruikt wordt als scheider voor duizendvouden, terwijl de conventie daar een ',' is. Ik herhaal nog maar eens dat het afdwingen van een vast formaat én een taalafhankelijke weergave bereikt kunnen worden door te werken met een invoertemplate. Beperking is dan wel dat geen afwijkende teksten meer mogelijk zijn in het veld (maar misschien is dat sowieso niet de bedoeling).
Helv There hasn't been any update to the manual here. The only information listed for "Circulation" is "Spelling e.g. 1,000,000" and that hasn't changed. What has changed is the on-screen instructions. Collectioneur did that last August and, as far as I know, was properly reported on the forum. It's not customary to send that information separately to all administrators anymore, but if it helps prevent them from making unwarranted corrections, we can certainly consider it in the future.
In our email exchange at the time, we noted that it's not ideal that the '.' is also used in English to separate thousands, while the convention there is a ','. I'd like to reiterate that enforcing a fixed format and language-dependent display can be achieved by using an input template. The limitation is that this prevents the inclusion of non-standard text in the field (but perhaps that's not the intention anyway).
Bij oplagecijfers, kan ik me niet goed voorstellen waarom een invoermasker dat een puntje op duizendtallen afdwingt, niet zou werken. Zou zelfs een auto-correct kunnen zijn.
Een invoermasker is inderdaad vrij makkelijk te regelen (auto correct is denk ik iets lastiger). Ik laat de beslissing aan de superbeheerders (zelfde onderwerp wordt ook in een ander draadje besproken).
An input mask is indeed quite easy to set up (I think autocorrect is a bit trickier). I'll leave that decision up to the super admins (the same topic is also discussed in another thread).
