to me
Dear company,

Regarding 12238191 I would like to pay by bank transfer because I do not have PayPal.

Can you give me your bank details?

Just got here and immediately things are happening that I don't trust!!

That is (as far as I can tell) a request from someone who ordered something from you to send your bank account number so that he can transfer the payment.
What don't you trust about that?

Xguest Your payment information shows that you use PayPal and bank transfer. If you sent the invoice to the buyer requesting payment via PayPal, it's understandable that the buyer would ask for your bank details. Certainly not every buyer uses PayPal. The email to you must have come from the orderer/buyer; it's listed in the order information in your own shop area. And that last sentence, "I just got here, and immediately things start happening that I don't trust!!" is it from you or the buyer?

I read here that all payments must be made via LD, so giving my account number doesn't seem logical to me.

Where do you read that? The opposite is true: LastDodo doesn't interfere with the transaction in any way.

In the terms and conditions of the subscriptions you can take out, I also see that there are contradictions in certain communications and/or conditions

Xguest , Did you perhaps mean this:

This only means that you can enable PayPal and, with the most expensive plans, allow people to pay directly via Stripe when they order. In both cases, the money goes directly to you as the seller because you have a PayPal or Stripe account yourself. This doesn't go through us.

Sorry, but when I read your terms and conditions in your shop, they are not very clear.
And if you mention that your pay pal sometimes fails, that doesn't seem 'inviting' either.
Just clarify some things here
And provide the 'payment options'.
What I can gather from this is that you cannot pay by bank transfer at your shop...
Or maybe not?
If you are unable or unwilling to provide an account number, you may miss out on some potential buyers.
I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I've never used PayPal.
And don't use it either.
Everyone decides that for themselves.
So 'here and there' you will have to make some considerations.
And buying and selling online/via the internet always involves 'certain' risks
And in the beginning it's all a bit of 'learning and getting used to it'...
I have made over 900 purchases through the shops on LD.
I picked up about 20 of them myself or they were delivered to my home by the seller.
All other sellers: the seller's account number was duly received, either by invoice or otherwise, and transferred.
Never had a problem with it...

PayPal isn't very practical if you sell small amounts, as there are always additional fees. If you sell a few euros' worth of stamps, you won't have much left.

Either the seller passes those costs on to the buyer, or the seller covers the costs. But in either case, someone has to pay "extra"...
So it's logical that many drop out...

PayPal had a breach in December and only yesterday did they feel the time to report it. That was reason enough for me to cancel. It was very easy.
