Is there a maximum on the number of fields that can be attached to 1 book. I am now busy importing the gags of Gaston Flater from part 1 of the Franquin collection, but from gag 200 or so on, the data is no longer processed. After entering the same data three times, I now just stop because it is quite frustrating this way.

I seem to remember that Chevy already ran into that when importing authors from Comix 2000…

I'll ask Marco again. He thought there could be no maximum on it, but we just have to take a good look at it.
Well say you want to enter all those gags!

It's OK, but it's the only way to know which gags I (or any other collector) have and where. That is why I do that with Donald Duck and I did it like that with Bollie and Bille

Could it be something to do with the time it takes to send / process the data? Just added one and that goes, but if I do 10 then I get a white screen after waiting minutes with the Firefox message Done. If I go back to the previous page to try again, I have to fill in all the fields with hero, artist and screenwriter first.

@arco: see topic “Comix 2000”. I tried several times but eventually gave up because it kept failing.

I already had it at hand myself for an album with a lot of entries.
If you do a few at a time, it will work well.
If you do a lot of them then not.
The disadvantage of small tufts is that you have to wait a long time before you are back in edit mode. We just wait until Marco gives the green light ...

I think the limit is somewhere at the 200 stories with corresponding fields. I just did Franquin collection 2 and it works.

In Comix 2000 all 324 drafters were finally introduced. Arco's suggestion has turned out to be a golden tip :-). Thanx.

We looked at it but there is no limit in the database. Probably something will go wrong with the user interface at some point if the number becomes too large. For the time being indeed, but not too large numbers at once. Is also safer because if your computer crashes then you will lose everything if you have entered a lot and have not yet pressed Save.

Wouldn't it just be a problem of filling up the virtual memory of a PC?

When I started entering all those Comix2000 draughtsmen, I did it via the browser I use most (Firefox). Used Safari this week and had no issues. Could it be that?
Mid December my apple had "only" 512 Mb of RAM, which has since been expanded to 2 giga. Maybe that has something to do with the smooth running of this time?

I sincerely hope that the problem is not reflected in Arco's latest suggestion. I just got a new kompjoeter and (just checked it out) with 4 Gb of virtual memory. Firefox seems to me to be the culprit. I will keep trying every now and then. Another 50 to 55 gags and then I'm there.
