Is it possible to add a flexible figure to the type of object?

By this I mean the dolls that contain iron wire, and that you can bend the arms and legs.

In any case, I enter it as an action figure ..

Sounds like a good idea.

It is a clear type, which may have its own section in the future (if needed)

Playsets and vehicles should actually be one of a kind.

I would love to see added:

Beasts / Creatures,

Playsets,

Vehicles,

for the correct entry of many Star Wars figurines.

I think animals and monsters are more of a theme than a kind of figurine / figure.

They remain dolls or action figures.
I don't think it would be a good idea if they can fall under several types

The type field is purely about what kind of item it is, not what it represents, because then I still know 100.

The point is that you can distinguish between the regular action figures (card with bubble with figure in it) and the much larger animals that are sold in boxes, for example. For many Star Wars fans this would be very useful. Now I enter these as miniatures, just like playsets and vehicles, because they are not real action figures. Otherwise, if you request a list of action figures, you would also see those large animals and since the first photo preferably does not show any packaging, this can get quite confusing ...

In principle, those larger beasts you are talking about now belong to a different (sub) series than the regular figures in the "bubble pack". So you can easily separate them by choosing the right series.

If they have their own series name (or sub-series name), they will not be mixed up in the total overview

The type of field is simply not intended for this.

The hood series is now "3 3/4 action figure line" and the sub series is used for the different lines within the action figure line. In each separate line (sub-series), which are very recognizable for Star Wars collectors, all kinds of products come out: action figures, but also vehicles, playsets and monsters or large beasts and often more. If we solve it in the way you suggest, enthusiasts will never be able to make a list of, for example, all vintage vehicles, just to name a few. For that they should be able to filter on two subseries at the same time.

By the way, it would be nice to be able to indicate several sub-series per article, some figures come back in different lines. You could also add the movie names, home worlds, races, for example.

@ Daan,

Don't those big dolls just belong under the independent column "Dolls & amp; Bears" instead of Figurines?

Classification by varieties is a bit too far for me.

@ Daan

The problem you are facing right now you have caused a bit yourself, because “Star Wars 3 ¾” action figure line ”is in fact not really a main series, but a collection of (main) series from different manufacturers.
Then the whole system will indeed collapse like a house of cards.

Currently, the subseries are part of the way it is sorted in the overview.
When we allow a figure to belong to multiple subseries, that no longer works, and the overall overview becomes more messy than it is now.
Then we can add a “sub-sub-series field” again, but there must be a good reason for this, and that reason cannot be "an incorrectly filled main series"

Movie names and race can already be entered in the "name" field.
That can be filled in several times.
Grouping similar figures from different series under 1 series name is obviously not a good idea.

I seem to remember that months ago I advised you to write to other Star Wars collectors, and start a discussion with them on the forum about how best to classify the series at Star Wars.

Unfortunately you didn't, but actually this is something that has to be determined by several people.

Incidentally, nowadays we also have a selectable scale field.
That seems like a better place to put the “3 ¾” group together.

No

@ tinkerbell:

In anticipation of a possible new type you can fill in bending figures as an (extra) theme for this type of figure. Then you can still select it via theme and when the new species is available, the items that need to be added to the new species will be quickly found.

This intermediate (?) Solution is currently also used, for example, for the Wobbleheads (Bobblehead / nodder) and Tumblers (Tuimel figgurtjes)

@Daan

Vintage (vehicle or anything else) is never some kind of natural but a subjective value judgment about age.
Monsters (beauty is in the eye of the beholder) can never be a kind, but they can be a theme.

It is best to enter races (Ewoks?) As a theme. After all, Indians and Roman Soldiers are also themes.

Okay, started a new topic anyway!

@pegag

With Vintage Star Wars every Star Wars collector means the same thing: namely the items produced by Kenner between 1977 and 1985. For the sample discussion see my explanation above.

Thanks for thinking along, maybe you also want to get involved in the new topic?

see you there!
