It is often thought that a collection is automatically insured under the home contents insurance. However, this is often not the case. Certainly not when it comes to a valuable collection.
That is why it is interesting that Catawiki works with an insurance broker that specializes in insuring art and collections. This intermediary can give you independent advice about your collection in relation to the coverage of your home contents insurance. And about the possibilities of taking out a specific Collective Insurance. If you fill in this form , an agent of the intermediary will contact you to discuss your specific situation.
Insurers often require you to map out your collection. That is of course already possible with Catawiki.
Fill in the form immediately at www.catawiki.nl/verzekering

Could extra attention be paid to exporting prices?
I had previously suggested to be able to add a price of my own. A signed copy is more expensive than an unsigned copy.
The best thing would be a field where you can give added value, so that if the price of the new copy is adjusted, the price of your own copy will also be adjusted.
The price then becomes catalog price + added value.
Perhaps it is an even better idea to indicate the added value in a percentage.
If a negative value is indicated, for albums that are in a lousy state, a lesser value will of course apply.
In any case, estimating the collector's value is a lot easier if prizes can be exported.
Why not just create a screen for the export, where you can select all the fields you want to export? Then you will be rid of all questions 'can this and that field be exported' in 1 go.
And it is easy to adapt if fields are added to the database.

I agree, but how do you determine the value of the signed copy?

Still an estimate of course, but since it concerns your own collection, it is of course what you think it is worth.
For example, with Andreas' Fantalia, 45 euros stands for a copy in new condition. For that price I have not seen it for a long time. The asking price on stock exchanges is more towards 100 euros.
And my copy is also provided with a beautiful drawing.
I would like to rate it a bit higher than the 45 euro mentioned in Catawiki. Given the asking prices of 100 euros, I would value my copy at 125 euros. And that's not too much for that album. I think 25% extra for a signed copy is not unreasonable. But if I wanted to include the album in my own collection for 450 euros, I should be able to.
If you take out insurance for your collection, you don't want to be under-insured.

Hello Rene / Marco,
In the meantime, following the importation through Catawiki, I found out that I am currently severely underinsured. So I consulted the insurer, who is willing to take out the insurance with Catawiki as proof. However, it is necessary that I can provide “proof” of the value of the comic items in question in my collection. However, it is necessary that the value in euros as stated in Catawiki is also transferred to an Excel file when exported. The last time I did this was not (yet) the case unfortunately. Of course then of course the monetary value linked to the condition that I myself have indicated (and therefore not the automatic good condition value). My question now is whether this would be possible in the short term? Thank you in advance for your (re) action in this one!
Alkyoto

Being able to export the list prices (linked to the condition of your own item) is a logical and justified question. We are going to make this soon!
Regards,
René
