F – W.C. Pickersgill, vice-consul britannique à Antananarivo (Madagascar) réorganisa son service postal et commença à émettre en mars 1883 des timbres-poste aussi bien pour le service local que pour le service à l’étranger. Le gouvernement de Madagascar permit à un groupe de négociants et le vice-consul d’organiser la poste intérieure aussi longtemps que durerait la guerre avec la France. Le service postal cessa le 30 septembre 1895 quand les troupes françaises entrèrent à Antananarivo.
E - W.C. Pickersgill, British Vice-Consul in Antananarivo (Madagascar) reorganized his postal service and began issuing stamps for both local and overseas services in March 1883. The government of Madagascar allowed a group of merchants and the vice-consul to organize the internal post as long as the war with France would last. The postal service was discontinued on 30 September 1895 when French troops entered Antananarivo.
