F - Les Îles Cook sont situées au Sud-Ouest de l'océan Pacifique sud et sont composées d’îles en contraste, d’une part les îles méridionales d’origine volcanique et dont la principale est Rarotonga où se situe la capitale et plus grande ville Avarua, et d’autre part les îles septentrionales qui forment six atolls coralliens. L'archipel a été nommé en l'honneur de James Cook, grand navigateur britannique, qui explora les îles en 1777. Les îles furent d’abord une protectorat britannique à partir de 1888. Les chefs des îles principales, sauf Aitutaki, cédèrent leur territoire en 1900 à la Couronne britannique qui les mit sous contrôle de la Nouvelle-Zélande. Les Îles Cook deviennent un pays indépendant et souverain le 4 août 1965.
E - The Cook Islands are located southwest of the South Pacific Ocean and are composed of islands in contrast, on the one hand the southern islands of volcanic origin and whose main is Rarotonga where the capital and largest city Avarua is situated, and on the other hand the northern islands which form six coral atolls. The archipelago was named after James Cook, a great British navigator, who explored the islands in 1777. The islands were first a British protectorate from 1888. The chiefs of the main islands, except Aitutaki, ceded their territory in 1900 to the British Crown, which put them under control of New Zealand. The Cook Islands became an independent and sovereign country on 4 August 1965.
