HONG is a website about games.
It strikes me that HONG takes images from Catawiki (mentioning the name of the importer, but without mentioning Catawiki) and polishes off the blue C.
Conversely, HONG explicitly mentions Catawiki in its terms of use as a site that is NOT allowed to use photos and information from HONG.
So that doesn't seem very right to me. Either you exchange information with mutual consent, or you don't. But forbidding a site to use your info while you do it yourself (and even shop away watermarks) is 'abject and disgraceful'.
I think that René cum suis should take some action here.
Gewoon negeren lijkt me.
The owner of that site is the person behind Wilmaspellen .
Who at the time ran away angry because he found this site to be too commercial. He was the manager of the games section, and has put it down with a lot of passion. Hence his explicit reference, he is very disappointed. In fact, he has "taken back" his previously posted images.
If he were to use images from other posted games, you're right. But otherwise I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Just ignore me.

The moment he would use images from other posted games, you'd be right.
If you had just looked at my link (and scrolled down a bit?) you would have seen that there are pictures on HONG that have been posted on Catawiki by users Vossinix and Pegag (I-said-the-crazy). Images of games that were also first imported by Vossinix and the undersigned to Catawiki. Introduced long (more than a year) after Wilma game puzzles left Catawiki. Images of which the blue C has been shopped away. Those images have not been 'taken back', they have been deliberately 'lent'.
So unfortunately I am right.
Then it does indeed seem quite opportunistic to me. Apparently he thinks he has more rights because he is not commercial.

It's a very nice site in itself and very useful with regard to, for example, the Monopoly or Career games. Or just other variations of games.
I'm actually against swiping, but a listing to sites with more information never hurts. I also think that you should not use pictures from others, until someone has them and can add them to CataWiki.
Unfortunately, this is not always the case with games, because there is also a game, for example. in CataWiki (but also in HONG!) whose photos are simply stolen from the game museum in Drenthe (don't pin me on that, but it's somewhere in the east). Just look at the monopoly games from the war. 1 of them would have been played by Anne Frank in the Secret Annex. It is there, but I think that is not the intention of CataWiki! Otherwise we can just copy various other databases (oh wait! We did that too (including Bonte and Yvert (??))).
Too bad we can't just work together. HONG for more info and CataWiki for the collectors.

Yes, we are formally concerned about that, although I am not the 'witch hunt' type.

I thought your opinion was better then 2015-01-30 16:53:17

That opinion is still solid, you know; you don't want to know what I delete every now and then. But it shouldn't be a day job.

This 17-05- 2015 20:04:22 was in any case very quickly removed, but maybe we should make guidelines because some "holy grails" include http://www.catawiki.nl/catalog/most_recent_items?id=1888&mode=expensive we collectors can only dream of that.
And for 1955-chevy for the more expensive whiskeys should of course be permission from the real picture maker because I don't believe that The Whiskey Exchange is happy that his whiskey (pictures) are being used on CW without approval.

if the rule is: don't pick pictures, then all those expensive Superman Comics etc. have to be removed from the catalog. Otherwise, it is better not to set a rule.

If that is the rule at CW then CW must also abide by its own rules.

If then. We're not getting into that, Morits. We are also not going to delete items without image 2 as it is mandatory with Comics these days. Lessons have been learned from wrong decisions. Always check the entry date first.

Okay, then what is the 'limitation period' for items with stolen images. If one is discovered now, it will be deleted immediately, but 'old' items already listed may remain. So if something is staged now and it is only discovered in a month, will it be removed or can it remain?
Just to know what the rule is

If some administrators (because 1955-chevy is not the only one) now lead by example to not picking up stolen pictures from other websites, that also saves Arco a lot of work.

There is no real limitation period. I remove almost everything that I come across if it can still simply be removed. If there are already users hanging on it, I set up a camera. Watermarked images from other sites have priority.
zelfs cameraatjes pikken ze
even cameras pick them up

I fought the law and I won
they even pick up cameras
As long as there is no watermark, you can steal them, BUT cameras with a watermark will be immediately removed by Arco ;-)

Then why is it imported if it is not available? Or are they unable to take digital photos? Was probably from the time when it was probably not such a strict policy and people preferred quantity over quality.
Those last images are not yours, metalfigures ?
Well seen! It is always difficult to see this from a distance in reprints, because the front often looks the same. Here, however, even the scuffs and weathering are the same

I estimate that I have since deleted 30 items from this user. Sin (also of the time).
