Since the end of 2011, BPOST uses a different type of glue for the self-adhesive stamps, whereby the stamps are almost impossible to peel off without damaging. I never had any problems before. Does anyone have any tips or advice? According to the PHILATELY BPOST service the seals cannot be detached!

Hello Spirou25,

I myself have been using the product HG sticker dissolver for a while.

This with the following procedure which can be found on Youtube:

http : //www.youtube.com/watch? v = nWMcVYgIZjM

Unfortunately the Fuelite product is probably not available with us I think ...

It works fine for me , be careful not to rub on the top of the stamp because then you have a chance to damage / remove the stamp.

Good luck,

Steven

Given the composition of Fuelite, there is a good chance that Petroleum ether 80-110 (pharmacy or drugstore?) could solve the problem. It works for glue residues from self-adhesive labels on glass in any case. You can also use it to make the watermark of your stamps visible. Only drawbacks: it smells quite, you should not inhale it too much (ventilation), it is flammable.

Be careful not to damage the seal image, as Steven rightly points out.

I have good experience by holding the seal in the steam from a kettle for 2 minutes with tweezers and then placing it in a bowl of hot water for half an hour. Then wipe the back with your finger.
