Ik vind het wel interessant als ik daarop kan sorteren… en bijv. bij artiesten, is het mooier als onder “cd” alleen de eigen cd’s te vinden zijn en niet ook de verzamel-cd’s, maar dat de verzamelaars zeg maar een aparte serie zijn.

Stel je geeft bij Beatles-platen niet alleen Beatles op als artiest, maar ook Paul McCartney en John Lennon. Als je daarna een selectie wil maken van de platen van Lennon solo, is dat niet mogelijk. Je krijgt er alles van The Beatles bij.
That would immediately be a nice solution to the problem that Jilles and I encountered: If you choose to specify all artists who play along for each record, then you will not get a nice selection. Example to make this crooked Dutch a bit clearer :-)

In wezen zou je het kunnen oplossen als je – net als bij strips – de items kan plaatsen in een “hoofdreeks”. Voor de artiest John Lennen kies je dan voor zijn solowerk en als je alles wilt zien kies je voor “alle items”.
Ik wil wel weten aan welk project een artiest allemaal heeft meegewerkt.

Prima oplossing Jilles. Ook de illegale uitgaven hou je dan buiten de hoofdreeks, evenals verzamelalbums van de artiest zelf.

Ook ik vind het uiteraard zeer interessant op welke platen artiesten allemaal meespelen en als dat kan via een hoofdreeks prima. Maar alleen hoofdreeks toevoegen is niet voldoende. Als ik mijn verzameling induik kan ik kiezen of voor artiest of voor drager of (als het over strips gaat)voor reeks. Het ideale is dan dat ik eerst kies voor bijvoorbeeld Guust en dat ik daarna ook nog kan kiezen uit de reeksen.
Qua muziek is het zonder een tweede selectiemogelijkheid een ramp. Er zijn zoveel artiesten waarvan ik maar enkele platen heb. Of je moet bij de titel van de reeks de naam van de artiest al op gaan nemen. Dat wordt dan een nog veel langere lijst.
