I recently managed to obtain a roll with 40 gas coins from Enkhuizen, after I bought it I looked at the value, for one coin in a beautiful condition I was offered € 1.75, I now have 40 in a original role but I have difficulty establishing a value. Can someone give me information about it and determine the value if any. Quality ranges from Fr. to Pr.

Dear Ruun,

In my opinion, collections are about who collects. How many people are there who collect Dutch coins or stamps or shells or old weights? That number partly determines the value of an object unless it is very rare. A roll of guest coins from Enkhuizen is nice for the local museum and there may be gas coin collectors (including me), but how many in the Netherlands are there? I have no idea. There are also hypes ... periods when something is in and periods when you can buy coins for an apple and an egg. Maybe you should just put that roll away for ten years. Once guest coins come into the spotlight again, but I don't have the impression that you score if you offer a roll of Enkhuizer guest coins for sale. But .. does the Zuiderzee Museum not like this?

Greetings,

Arjen
