LastDodo site & app/New Settings page44 messages

Since there have been many adjustments over the past 12 years, the settings have ended up in various places a bit messy.
A lot of work has gone into making this more attractive and easy to use.

Under your avatar (round image in the top right of the black bar) is Settings . The page is now clearly divided into blocks, which can be folded in or out. Take the time to go through your settings and adjust them if necessary.

Try to tell a nice piece of text about your collection / yourself. Choose a nice profile picture of your own. We are a community of collectors and other users will appreciate this.

For shops, potentially everyone :-), it is important to fill in all fields because interested buyers take a good look at this and therefore it certainly increases your sales opportunities if there are good texts here. It will soon be mandatory for sellers to enter their country, because country flags will be displayed next to the items for sale in the catalog. So make sure that the country is also entered.

Small thing, the Footer of the invoice says 'thank you for shipping' as an example, that should be 'thank you for the order' I'm guessing.

Nice that you notice this, because it immediately gives me the opportunity to point out to the administrators that the administration page can be accessed via SETTINGS and then ADMINISTRATION in the gray bar under LastDodo.

Everyone has multiple tabs to: My collection, Search list, Shop, Messages, Shopping carts, Purchases.

I might see it (tired eyes due to reading those light gray texts :)) but I no longer find where I can set the number of images (in a row in the gallery view) in the new screen 'Settings' ...

My house number is now mentioned twice on the invoices ... is this also a result of the new settings page? I have not changed my address, and previously the house number did not appear twice ...

Neen, echt, ik zie in instellingen op adrresregel 1 mijn straat en huisnummer, en géén afzonderlijk vakje voor het huisnummer.

Maar op (alle, het zijn er meerdere) facturen komt mijn huisnummer er dubbel op ... en mijn adres is nu iets waar ik zeker van ben dat ik het niet heb gewijzigd (ben niet verhuisd of zo).

Ik vermoed dat er ergens een vakje 'huisnummer' was, en dit nu niet meer zichtbaar is in het scherm 'Instellingen'? ...  En dat het waarschijnlijk nog is opgevuld (voor mij).

Toch jammer dat we geen stukje schermafdruk kunnen plaatsen op dit forum ...

No, really, I see my street and house number in settings on address line 1, and no separate box for the house number.

But on (all, there are several) invoices my house number appears twice ... and my address is now something I'm sure I haven't changed (haven't moved or anything).

I suspect there was a 'house number' box somewhere, and it is now no longer visible in the 'Settings' screen? ... And that it's probably still filled up (for me).

It's a pity that we can't post a screenshot on this forum...

Form for Address details for the Netherlands differs from the form for other countries. Under investigation.

And while I'm on a roll: mrgreen: another thing that struck me now. Those who are somewhat drier by nature can skip the text and immediately read the bold line at the bottom.

Following a message from me to a collector, who pointed out that his contributions were actually a bit (much) wrong, a good conversation started. That way I could help that man and explain how he can put things right (himself) (with a better chance of selling). Self-reliance is a virtue :)

I saw that the collector was also from my country, but I had no idea which region (far or close). Imagine that you are going digital with someone who only lives a few blocks away. Can always.
So I gave him the hint to fill in his 'province'. For me it says neatly 'West Flanders'. And I'm a little proud of that.
Now I see that my hint was followed with that other collector, but everything is in the box 'Place of residence'. There is no 'Province' line in that profile.

When I look in the new screen 'settings' ... then I don't see where my 'West-Flanders' is going. It's still in, it's still coming out, but I can't take it anymore. Not that I intend to move, but now I wonder how anyone new can indicate which side of the country they are from.
I do not really recommend entering the city yourself (unless it is a large city). Not everyone in the world needs to know where exactly I live (only the sellers to be able to send purchased stamps).
But a 'region', as in Belgium the name of the province, does give some idea. That shouldn't be more.

The question is: where is the field 'province' to in the new screen 'Settings', section 'My profile' ?

Question 2: can this be provided again? Not everyone likes to fill in 'place of residence'. A separate 'Province' course meets less resistance and invites more (it's more general).

The problem with the duplicate house numbers on the invoices will be resolved as soon as possible.

The Province field was not used for anything in the system and was completed by relatively few people. We were often asked why we asked about this.
That is why it has been decided not to use this field anymore.

I think it is in line with that house number. Perhaps previously a separate field for Belgians (foreigners), but now replaced (for foreigners) by one field: 'Address line 1'. But the house number is still in it (behind the scenes) and it is still there. Now that field should not disappear, I suspect, because it may still be in use for the Netherlands?

btw: the field 'Province' is used by 2 of the three largest (stamp) collectors on LD ... The third has forgotten to fill it in (was too busy clicking I suspect lol), and lives on the same ground.

We have investigated the use of the possibility of setting the number of images in a row. This shows that only 13 people made use of this by deviating from the standard 6 pictures.

Since additional setting options lead to more complexity, we have decided to list everyone on the standard of 6 images.

The problem with the duplicate house numbers on the invoices will be resolved as soon as possible.

To test (receive an invoice) do I have to order? Or can a seller recreate the invoice now?
