Een simpele vraag, waren in Nederland de (VOC) halve duiten in omloop?
A simple question, were the (VOC) half coins in circulation in the Netherlands?
RuunWJa ik weet wel dat ze bestaan. Maar van zoverre ik weet werden ze gemaakt door de VOC voor nederlands indie. Waar ik nu zo benieuwd naar was is of ze ook hier in Nederland circuleerde.
Yes I do know they exist. But as far as I know they were made by the VOC for the Dutch Indies. What I was so curious about is whether she was also circulating here in the Netherlands.
Ze hebben wel munttekens van Nederlandse steden en de VOC voer natuurlijk steeds heen en weer naar Nederlands Indië, dus ik zou verwachten dat ze ook in Nederland werden gebruikt. Maar ik ben geen kenner verder hoor. RuunW Misschien kan een van de muntenverzamelaars er iets over zeggen?
RuunW They do have mint marks of Dutch cities and the VOC of course always sailed back and forth to the Dutch East Indies, so I would expect that they were also used in the Netherlands. But I'm no connoisseur. RuunW Maybe one of the coin collectors can say something about it?

Officeel was dat verboden maar er kon geld mee worden verdient om het was minder waardt in Indonesie tegenover Nederland dus er werden terug gesmokkeld naar Nederland
Officially that was forbidden but money could be made with it because it was worth less in Indonesia compared to the Netherlands, so people were smuggled back to the Netherlands
