Hi everyone, I've recently been catching up on some comics from Junior Press. For example, I recently picked up “The Spectacular Spider-Man” and “The X-Men” again. Now I notice that mainly the comics around the end of the eighties are slightly smaller in height, with dimensions of 17.0 x 24.5 cm, while the rest have a 'normal' height of 17.0 x 26 .0 cm. I'm especially curious if anyone knows if, and what the reason for this was/is?

The covers then also had a shine. Maybe an attempt to stand out more on the shelf? ....or a change of printing company?

I also collected the older Junior Press issues. Now, to my knowledge the font was also changed to a standard comic book text style in the mid to late 96's. It reminds me a bit of the size, I think this was both because it was cheaper. In the beginning, the books were not that popular until the 1980s, but if you have to print more of them, it is easier, as a Dutch-speaking and smaller publisher, to use a smaller format that saves money.
