Does anyone have any good tips on how best to photograph a glass.

I have a canon digital camera powershot s45, but don't bake much of it as I can't get the logos on the glass sharp.

For example, we could give reasonable condition to empty bottles in all cases. These too can have an aggregate value.

Sure, my supermarket values most beers in fair condition at 10 cents per item.

Just kidding, maybe in this case you should create the ability to rate container and content separately.
Think of the KLM houses and the "leidse peipies" where the content has no intrinsic value and the container is the actual collector's item. New condition is of course the non-soldierly made condition, but good and reasonable here mainly concerns the condition of the container, not the content.

I assume that soft drinks also belong in this section, but I rarely see any links.

For the different types of alcoholic drinks, different rules apply with regard to determining the state.
Whiskey, for example, does not decay and is valued according to the content of the bottle, whether opened or unopened. Wine, on the other hand, does perish and has only a limited shelf life when opened.
However, the bottle can still have value when it comes to a special label (eg from a cartoonist). The condition of the contents of the bottle is less important.
How do we handle this? I can imagine that the value of half a bottle is used for the whiskey when it is in good condition.
For example, we could give reasonable condition to empty bottles in all cases. These too can have a collective value.
who has ideas?

I suggest limiting the number of themes and working well with links. These ensure the findability of an item from different angles (advertising, comics, etc.). For comics I therefore propose not to work with a subdivision according to hero, but only with the theme “comics” and then a link to the hero under comics.

I propose that all items that do not concern a bottle of liquor are presented as curiosities. Categories are already available for glasses, ashtrays, etc., beer mats, felts, etc. can be entered under “other”.
Unfortunately, this does mean the necessary correction work.

In my view, these are 2 different things that should be placed under 1 denominator. Isn't convenient. I propose to make 2 separate fields out of this.

Ha Pitske,
I don't think the staging of curios is quite as it should be. The felt pads should be presented as a curiosity in my view, just like glasses, etc.
Only full bottles with liquor should be presented directly under alcoholics in my view.
I also asked Marco and Rene how they see this. Hope to receive a response soon.

Regarding beer coasters: is it possible to add a number of fields to the coasters?
1. In addition to the Brand / Manufacturer, there should also be a field ù with Series: some brands have released multiple series, these cannot be sorted now, you can only select by brand for the time being.
Stella eg. has released a few hundred felt pads.
2. Number in the series
3. Field for single-sided printing or double-sided printing.
