That you, as an administrator, can better organize the Games section.
You've been an administrator before, so you know how it works.
Please let me know via PM if you are interested.

At Spellen, we need an active general administrator. That's the main reason why everything isn't properly structured.

Look, I find it odd, for example, that there are so many Quartets listed under Game Type: Card Game (other) (782), while there is a Game Type: Quartet (1073). IIrc, this was also the case 10 years ago.

Does this need to be changed slowly by hand?

Are there any rules regarding the manufacturer/printer/publisher? Should it be entered "as is" or under the commonly known name? I think it can be important for dating and version control to enter the publisher as completely as possible, including place names and variations.

Hello,

I took over my mother's collection after she passed away. I'd actually been doing that for the past few years, as I'm more obsessive and more internet-savvy.
I'd already started working for her at CW, and we'd become quartets' administrators. Now I want to slowly add her collection (1460+/-), but I'm noticing some things in the LD catalog that aren't entirely consistent. I'd already encountered some of these issues at CW, and at some point, it became too much work.

My question now is, what is the current Games catalog like?
Are there discussions about the different categories (Game Type, General Game Name)?
Has the change from CW->LD changed anything behind the scenes that makes management easier?

Leike-w Lotty-
Cartamundi is the producer, the maker of the cards.
But just about every deck of cards comes from Cartamundi (Carta Mundi)...

I want to enter these loose playing cards, but I don't know what to enter in the title.

Does anyone know what playing cards these are.

I don't think so. The back of a playing card is not a physical object. Nor is the front, for that matter. A playing card is an object. And it has both a front and a back, which must be entered as images 1 and 2. They are both needed to describe individual unique playing cards. So you must always enter a complete card.
By the way, you can use your own images (other than the catalog image) in your own collection. Nothing prevents you from using an image of the back as the first image, so that you see the different backs as standard in the overview of your own collection.

I have several backs of playing cards. I want to add these to my collection.

When I want to charge the playing cards, I can only select these under "Object".

Playing card [Loose], but also contains jokers and front sides. https://www.lastdodo.nl/nl/areas/2790709-speelkaart-los

Playing card [Other], but there are also fronts in here. https://www.lastdodo.nl/nl/areas/4944611-speelkaart-overig

Can a new item be created with the title "Playing Card [Back]"?

Greetings,
Lotty

Since I do not know which post you are responding to specifically, I assume it is about the item #10164413
This is a good example of a learning and development game for preschoolers.
This is also a typical example of an item that could belong in several sections: Games, Toys, Puzzles.
But the main purpose of this item is to help stimulate toddler learning and development.

That sounds frustrating! It's a tricky situation when different definitions are in play. If the puzzles you're submitting are classified as "insert puzzles" and not games, it makes sense to keep them in the puzzle category. It might help to clarify with the puzzle manager about the criteria for categorization—perhaps a clearer distinction can be made between what qualifies as a game versus a puzzle.

Hey, nice find at the thrift store! It’s always exciting to stumble upon vintage board games like that. I remember scoring an old chess set at a flea market once—no idea of its age, but it had this cool, worn look that made it feel like a piece of history. Speaking of games, when I’m not hunting for treasures, I often relax with a game of spider solitaire. It’s a classic for unwinding after a busy day. Hope someone can help you pin down the year of your find!

I have a shopping game from Super De Boer in my possession, but it is no longer complete and there are a number of shopping cards that are not on the shopping lists of cards at all. But they do look original. Can someone please tell me more about this?
