I am looking for a good storage / storage system for my comics. A question for my fellow collectors: how did you do that?

Bagged and Board in a box, the comics. (Yoda style: “Afraid, I am.”)
The rest just on the shelf.
I hope to lose a large part of them one day, I will not read them again and think it is a shame to let them rot. Rather have them in circulation.

Ikea shipping cabinets are ideal for most album formats.

I also have to look for cabinets. Are those cabinets from Ikea a bit sturdy? So the name is Expedite?

Billy from Ikea and then the slim version of 40 cm. wide is ideal. You can determine your plank height yourself and if necessary. buy additional doors.

@rene
If we still mention the names of manufacturers:
Lundia a shelf of 1 meter wide, with 40 sturdy bommel books, which hardly sag. You've probably seen it

I've had Billy once, but I thought he was a bit rickety. Then I see more in Rik's option (he had emailed me another image and it looks nice; I'm going to have a look this weekend).
I will also come back to have a look at your Lundia system soon, Jilles.

I also had Lundia, but I don't use it for comics anymore. Lundia is quite expensive, but the sides are not smooth, which is a drawback. Moreover, the planks are not all completely flat, with strips that rest on the plank over a fairly large length, it sometimes happens that after standing for a long time, small dents from the non-smooth plank become visible in the bottom of the album.
I just had them made to measure so…

@morits
I have been advised to buy Lundia, but I hear that there are some objections to it ..
Is the rough surface for all Lundia lines, or is this typical of the Original line and, for example, the Nuvola and Quadrant versions perhaps have a smooth surface?
@willem: I am curious about the alternative to Lundia ..

Moritz means that there is a kind of empty space at the uprights, but lundia is definitely not rough. One-meter shelves that hardly sag are hard to find anywhere.
It's pricey, it certainly is.
All bang for the buck

What Willem means is Wedeka. They are really indestructible and sagging is not in their dictionary to my knowledge.

Ivar rack system from Ikea: flexible, cheap and sturdy! Has been packed with albums for years and does not drop an inch.
Comics of course bagged and boarded in boxes of copy paper with lids and then into the Ivar!

Albums and comics: everything in Mylar bags with Mylar boards (everything is acid-free).
Everything in boxes of CDS with lid on.
Have a free wall, which can be used all the way for fixing rails (screw in every hole), hooks and shelves.
I don't know how much it costs now because I've had it like this for many years.

I have been using KEWLOX cabinets for years, you can get these in all sizes and the shelves can handle 80 kg without sagging.

My “IKEA billy cupboard shelves” were also saggy. Cabinet width of 60 and 90 cm is too much for the weight of the books. At the HUBO I had boards cut at niche height and placed them vertically between the books halfway up the cupboard shelves. Overvoltage then becomes half - works perfectly. By the way, I'm starting to worry more about my storey floor. I can still see my comic book room coming down one more time.

I went to the IKEA last week. Not a pleasant experience. But the Expedit cabinets - tip from Rik and Stripsmagazijn - looked beautiful and very sturdy (a lot better than the Billy’s luckily). Also exactly the right height of the compartments. I think I will go for that. There is also a lot possible with the dimensions of the cabinets.

I have packed all my strips airtight.
Brought these plastic bags from work. you can press shut.
All my comics are in sturdy cabinets with doors. Bought once at the Kwantum.
