Collecting/Potential new sections33 messages

Er zijn idd veel, en grote, verzamelaars van die dingen.  Soms heel prijzig.
In de massa van een rubriek Overig is de aantrekkingskracht gering.
Ze staan nu toch al bijeen in de rubriek Overig onder voorwerp Kentekenplaten (Registratie platen).  Voorheen was dat op 4 verschillende plaatsen.
Dat is al een goed begin.
Nu nog een doorgewinterde verzamelaar vinden die er zijn schouders wil onder zetten ...

Zo te lezen op het forum is er ook behoefte aan een rubriek Kartonfilatelie. 
Wordt dit gedeeld door postzegelverzamelaars?
Wat zou daaronder moeten vallen?
Welke velden zou het moeten bevatten?

As you can read on the forum there is also a need for a Cardboard Filately section.

Goed plan, FDC, maximumkaarten en postwaardestukken, om mee te beginnen. Uitgiftedatum is een belangrijk veld.

Er is nog niets besloten, blijkbaar is er ook niet zo'n behoefte aan. Postzegelverzamelaars zien graag de FDC's in dezelfde uitgifte als van de postzegels.

Hoi Tammo,
Op 9 maart gaf je de suggestie om meer duidelijkheid te krijgen rond wat rubrieken zoals Glas, Keramiek, en Overig. Daarin staat van alles rond de gebruikte materialen of in Overig alles wat nergens anders kan.

Ik kan me nog iets voorstellen bij een rubriek Eet- en drinkgerei.
Alleen om dan ook nog Beeldende Kunst aan te maken, gaat denk ik weer een ander probleem opleveren.
Er valt namelijk heel veel onder Beeldende Kunst.

Het zijn niet alleen maar plastische of tastbare kunstvoorwerpen. Ook schilderijen, etsen, bedrukte stoffen, collages enzovoort. Zelfs nieuwere vormen als performance art, body art of digitale kunst wordt er onder gerekend.
(Vraag is of je het er mee eens bent, maar dat is een ander verhaal.)

Zo maar even een opmerking ter overdenking. :D
Een dergelijke rubriek zal mijns inziens geregeld tot verhitte discussies leiden, juist door alle verschillende opvattingen. 

Dit probleem blijven we houden zolang we geen eenduidige, gecontroleerde onderwerpenlijst (of personenlijst of geografische lijst, etc.) hebben.
De termen uit die lijst moeten dan aan elk record in de catalogus gehangen kunnen worden.
Op basis van die termen kan je dan allerlei rubrieken maken. Je kan dat dan op centraal niveau zelfs helemaal los laten, omdat bezoekers/gebruikers dan zelf op basis van die gecontroleerde termenlijst een selectie kunnen maken, al dan niet met elkaar gecombineerd.
Een term daarin kiezen en je krijgt dan alles van afvalbak tot zeepje te zien waar die term aanhangt.

Hi Tammo,
On March 9th you suggested to get more clarity about some sections such as Glass, Ceramics, and Other. It contains everything about the materials used or in Other everything that can't be found anywhere else.

I can imagine something with a section Eating and drinking utensils.
Only to also create Visual Art I think this will pose another problem.
There is a lot that falls under Visual Arts.

They are not just plastic or tangible art objects. Also paintings, etchings, printed fabrics, collages and so on. Even newer forms like performance art, body art or digital art are included.
(Ask if you agree, but that's another story.)

In my opinion, such a column will regularly lead to heated discussions, precisely because of all the different views.

We will continue to have this problem as long as we do not have an unambiguous, controlled list of subjects (or list of persons or geographical list, etc.).
The terms from that list must then be able to be attached to every record in the catalog.
On the basis of those terms you can then create all kinds of categories. You can then even completely let go of that at a central level, because visitors/users can then make a selection based on that controlled list of terms, whether or not combined with each other.
Choose a term in it and you will then receive everything from a waste bin to soap to see where that term is attached.

Loslaten van rubrieken gaat niet lukken, omdat het merendeel van de velden verschillend zijn.
Maar het zou mooi zijn indien we de beschikking hadden over centrale bestanden voor een aantal velden voor alle rubrieken.

Zo werkt de huidige zoekmachine in principe ook. Hij laat eerst de resultaten in de rubriek waarin je zoekt, maar je kunt ook over alle rubrieken heen zoeken.

Over Kunst zal altijd gediscussieerd blijven worden, we moeten alleen een praktische oplossing zien te vinden waar dergelijke kunst enigszins gemakkelijk onder te brengen is.
