There are many, and large, collectors of those things. Sometimes very expensive.
In the mass of a section Other, the attraction is small.
They are already gathered in the section Other under object License Plates (Registration Plates). Previously this was in 4 different places.
That's a good start.
Now it's time to find a seasoned collector who is willing to put his shoulders to the wheel...

In addition to Stamps and Seals, we have the potential new sections Tax stamps / Banderoles and Firm perforation [Perfins].

As you can read on the forum there is also a need for a Cardboard Filately section.
Is this shared by stamp collectors?
What should it include?
What fields should it contain?

Good plan, FDC, maximum cards and postal stationery, to start with. Release date is an important field.

Frageria Bad plan. My answer is already in another topic so I assume you've read it and I don't need to repeat it again.

user-1713548  I've read it and you don't need to repeat it. I think it's possible in this day and age, otherwise Collectioneur  wouldn't have brought it up.

Nothing has been decided yet, apparently there is no such need. Stamp collectors like to see the FDCs in the same issue as the stamps.

Hi Tammo,
On March 9th you suggested to get more clarity about some sections such as Glass, Ceramics, and Other. It contains everything about the materials used or in Other everything that can't be found anywhere else.

I can imagine something with a section Eating and drinking utensils.
Only to also create Visual Art I think this will pose another problem.
There is a lot that falls under Visual Arts.
See for example the list at: https://nl.wikipedia. org/wiki/Beeldende_kunst
They are not just plastic or tangible art objects. Also paintings, etchings, printed fabrics, collages and so on. Even newer forms like performance art, body art or digital art are included.
(Ask if you agree, but that's another story.)

Just a comment for consideration. :D
In my opinion, such a column will regularly lead to heated discussions, precisely because of all the different views.

We will continue to have this problem as long as we do not have an unambiguous, controlled list of subjects (or list of persons or geographical list, etc.).
The terms from that list must then be able to be attached to every record in the catalog.
On the basis of those terms you can then create all kinds of categories. You can then even completely let go of that at a central level, because visitors/users can then make a selection based on that controlled list of terms, whether or not combined with each other.
Choose a term in it and you will then receive everything from a waste bin to soap to see where that term is attached.

Greetings, Peter

You can then create all kinds of categories based on those terms. You can then even completely let go of that at a central level, because visitors/users can then make a selection themselves based on that checked list of terms, whether or not combined with each other.

It will not work to let go of rubrics, because most of the fields are different.
But it would be nice if we had central files for a number of fields for all rubrics.

Choose a term in it and you will then see everything from waste bin to soap to which that term is attached.

This is how the current search engine works in principle. He first shows the results in the section you are looking for, but you can also search across all sections.

Art will always be discussed, we just need to find a practical solution where such art is somewhat easy can be accommodated.
